The service isn't great, but the app is just terrible. Routinely breaks cell data because you are in range of a hot spot, but doesn't automatically log you on.

Buggy, for example the login screen was loaded at 2x the resolution/size of my 5.5" display. Sort of weird. Also, the entire map interface is from 2005 or something - super slow and dated.

When switching the application, the phone heats up and the battery loses about 1% every three or so minutes. It also switches itself on without being called.

I have a free Boingo account via Amex. This app has yet to work for me. It has been installed for several months and every time it tries to connect it fails. It's free so you can't complain, but if I had a paid subscription I would be livid. I have yet to try at boingo specific hotspots, but there were places such as a hotel conference room where it would have been very helpful if it actually worked.
